Project Overview

Following the success of its first branch, Toqa Café opened its second location in Al Khoudh in September 2024. This branch builds on the brand’s signature Japandi minimalism, evolving the design with richer tones and refined details. Conceived as a serene and modern gathering place, the café offers both elegance and warmth, positioning itself as a destination for coffee lovers seeking comfort and style.

Design Concept

The Al Khoudh branch continues Toqa Café’s philosophy of blending Japanese simplicity with Scandinavian functionality. Light oak and walnut surfaces form the foundation, paired with matte black details and soft beige tones to create balance and depth. Large glass façades invite natural light, while greenery and warm lighting enhance the intimate yet sophisticated atmosphere. The layout ensures both openness and privacy, with thoughtfully arranged seating that caters to individuals, groups, and casual meetups.

Materials & Atmosphere

A carefully curated material palette defines the space. Light oak and walnut provide warmth, matte white and beige finishes maintain brightness, and black metal elements add modern contrast. Rattan textures, natural stone, and greenery bring an organic touch, while Corian surfaces ensure durability and refinement. Together, these materials establish a calming ambiance that feels timeless and inviting.

Exterior Design

The Al Khoudh exterior reflects minimalist elegance. A matte white façade contrasts with warm wood accents, while expansive glass windows framed in black metal create transparency and openness. Subtle backlit signage ensures visibility without overwhelming the design, and planter boxes reinforce the café’s connection to nature. By day, the façade conveys clarity and warmth; by night, soft lighting transforms the entrance into a welcoming beacon for the community.
